Redness on goldfish, bloodstreaks on skin without apparent injury, especially blood streaks in the fins, inflamed blood vessels in the skin and at fin bases stand out, small hemorrhages around eyes, loss of appetite, sluggish behavior are all signs of Septicemia in your goldfish.
Septicemia can come as a result of other conditions or illness (such as finrot) or it can result instead from dirty water.
When the bacteria enter the goldfish's circulatory system, they are able to travel throughout the goldfish's body very quickly through the blood stream, causing damage to body tissue, blood vessel, and the fish's heart. This often results in internal bleeding. Because these fluids may fill the goldfish's abdomen dropsy may also result. This is a very serious condition and must be treated immediately. Since the infection is INSIDE the goldfish at this point the medication must also be delivered INSIDE. See your veterinarian for injections of antibiotics. If, like most of us you cannot find a vet to work on fish then....
To treat this disease we recommend; Jungle Medicated Food and Easy Treat Bacterial
Many water borne antibiotics available at pet stores, such as Furazone Green, can be administered via entubation, to get the medication INSIDE the goldfish.
