The fish appears to have a black smudge or soot like appearance. This may just be on the fins or cover the entire body. Rather than the result of diseases, this condition is usually the result of skin damage from ammonia burns or other costic trauma. This condition will usually clear itself after a few days in excellent water quality and your goldfish should be back to normal
