If there are some plants that you do not have, give something new a try. There are some magnificent varieties out there that can add dramatic changes to the pond or bog area. Remember, when deciding which plants to include in your pond, that you choose some tall and short emergents, surface sprawling and submerged plants. They all provide a valuable service to the quality of the water in your pond.
Try large container plantings that have three different plants in one container. For example; Blue rush, Arrowhead and Chamelion Plant will make a magnificent display. Use your imagination! Multiple groups of three plants are very attractive. Try a large pot on a plant stand in the middle of the pond to give the feel of an island.
Care Instructions For New Or Newly Transplanted Aquatic Plants
Aquatic plants will take approximately 2 - 4 weeks to recover from transplant trauma. Likewise, it will take about 4 - 6 weeks for Newly Planted water lilies, submerged plants, bog plants to establish themselves and be properly balanced in your pond. During this time, many water gardeners are concerned with green or greenish brown water. Please be patient, do not drain your pond and start over. This condition is normal and should subside once your plants are established.
